Wildlife

Royal Bengal Tiger

Because of this tiger's endangered status, most of them are kept in animal sanctuaries. Royal Bengal Tigers are solitary animals who rarely travel together. Tourist can find these tigers at may zoos in India.

Ganges River Dolphin

Found in both the Ganges and Indus Rivers, the Ganges River Dolphin is an endagered species discovered in the early 20th Century. Traveling in small groups, these dolphins thrive in fresh, deep water. Tourists can see these creatures at sanctuaries throughout India.

Red Pana

Another endangered species seen only in China and India, the Red Panda is a solitary, sleepy animal who spends most of its time climbing trees. Smaller than a Great White Panda, the Red Panda weighs about 3-6 kilograms and is very agile. Tourist can find Red Pandas in certain sanctuaries.

An evergreen, the Banyan Tree is a monstrous tree with long, extended branches and aerial roots. Considered sacred by Indian people, the tree is the National Tree of India.
